The Home Department is the chief policymaking authority for security and law and order in the province. It oversees law enforcement agencies and administers Police, Levies, Prisons, Prosecution, Civil Defence, Probation & Reclamation, and Civil Administration. The department also coordinates with the Ministry of Interior and MOFA on cross-border affairs. Historically, it has played a vital role in maintaining stability and providing strategic policy direction.
